North Field East Project EPC Packages 1
- Project Overview
Qatar NFE (North Field East) EPC Package 1 is the core onshore EPC package of the world’s largest LNG expansion project. Awarded to the Chiyoda and Technip Energies Joint Venture (CTJV) in February 2021, the project has an investment of approximately 13 billion US dollars. Warom Technology successfully won the bid for the relevant sections of this project with a total bid amount of tens of millions of US dollars. The project execution period lasts from 2022 to 2025, representing an important practice for Warom Technology to deeply participate in global large-scale energy projects.
- Customer background and challenges
With its huge investment scale and strict technical requirements, this project has become a key focus for global electrical bulk material suppliers and explosion-proof electrical equipment manufacturers due to its global influence, leading to extremely fierce industry competition. For suppliers, it is necessary not only to meet high-standard product technical requirements but also to possess comprehensive service capabilities to cope with complex project scenarios in order to stand out in the fierce competition.
- Our Solution
Addressing the core needs and pain points of the project, Warom Technology implemented precise measures and formed a complete solution covering three key dimensions: product supply, technological R&D, and production capacity guarantee. The key products and initiatives are as follows:
- Lamp Package Solution: The project’s lamp package explicitly required traditional light sources instead of mainstream LED light sources. Currently, most foreign brands in the international market have abandoned the production of traditional light sources. Leveraging its long-term commitment to the R&D and manufacturing of traditional light source luminaires, Warom Technology saw its BAY51-Q, BDD91, BAT53, and BAM52 series of traditional lighting fixtures—valued for their stable performance and full compliance with project technical specifications—successfully gain the favor of the EPC consortium, thereby becoming the core supplier for the lighting package.
- Power Package Product Solution: The control and wiring products involved in the project’s Power Package required a wide range of specifications due to complex on-site processes, with high requirements for product adaptability and reliability. To meet the project needs, Warom Technology simultaneously launched R&D and qualification certification work for relevant products during the bidding phase, focusing on the technological breakthrough of BZC8050 operation columns, BXJ8050 junction boxes, and DQM cable glands. Ultimately, these products fully met on-site requirements in terms of technical parameters and qualification certification and successfully passed the review.
- Production Capacity and Delivery Guarantee Solution: Ultra-large-scale projects place extremely high demands on suppliers’ production scale and delivery guarantee capabilities. Warom Technology fully demonstrated its strength to customers – possessing the world’s top three production scale and delivery efficiency far exceeding that of industry peers. Relying on a solid production capacity foundation and a mature supply chain management system, Warom effectively eliminated customers’ concerns about supply stability and ultimately successfully won the order.
- Implementation Process &Timeline
In December 2022, Warom Technology successfully won the bid for the relevant sections of Qatar NFE Project EPC Package 1; in early 2023, the project officially entered the delivery phase, and Warom supplied goods to the site in batches in accordance with the project schedule; the entire delivery work will last until the end of 2025, synchronously coordinating with the project construction progress to ensure timely material supply.
- Achievements and Data Demonstration
As the core section of the Qatar NFE Project, Warom Technology’s pioneering bid for the relevant business of EPC Package 1 rapidly enhanced the recognition of the Warom brand within the project system through high-quality products and efficient services, laying a solid foundation for subsequent business expansion. Building on this good start, various business teams of Warom Technology took advantage of the momentum and successively won bids for multiple subcontract projects of NFE Project Package 2, Package 3, Package 4, and NFE Offshore, achieving in-depth participation in the entire project chain and significantly expanding market share and brand influence.
- Customer Feedback
During the project execution, the professional capabilities and service level of Warom’s project team were highly recognized by the customer. The EPC team member who responsible for project design and execution commented, Warom’s project team has demonstrated excellent project execution capabilities and rapid response speed. Faced with various on-site issues, they can collaborate efficiently and solve them accurately, providing reliable guarantee for the smooth progress of the project.
- Experiences Summary & Insights
The successful execution of this ultra-large project fully confirms the core value of close team collaboration. Relying on efficient organizational management capabilities, Warom Technology achieved synergy and linkage among various departments and links throughout the project lifecycle. When facing customer doubts and sudden on-site problems, it can quickly gather team strength, accurately identify the root cause of problems, and efficiently propose and implement solutions. This not only ensures the smooth delivery and execution of the project but also accumulates valuable experience in serving ultra-large projects, laying a solid foundation for subsequent in-depth cultivation of the global high-end energy project market.
