Electrical Safety Upgrade and Supporting Project of Explosion-proof Products for General Paint Chemical Plant

  • Project Overview

This project originated from an in-depth on-site visit to the market. During Zhongge’s business trip to Mexico, during meetings with local agents and visits to several factories, he targeted General Paint, a small chemical factory. Through on-site investigation, serious electrical safety hazards existing in its production workshop were discovered. Subsequently, a complete set of explosion-proof product solutions was provided specifically and the order was successfully obtained.

The project covers key safety products such as gas detectors, explosion-proof grates, explosion-proof plugs, explosion-proof distribution boxes, three-proof distribution boxes and human body static electricity discharge devices. From the initial contact, on-site diagnosis, solution design and quotation, to the final order placement, production and delivery, the entire execution cycle is approximately three months. Although this project was a separate order, it successfully integrated the company’s professional security products into the customer’s procurement system and established an initial trust relationship.

  • Customer background and challenges

Customer Background: General Paint is a medium-sized chemical plant in Mexico, involving flammable and explosive gases and dust environments.

Core challenges and pain points: Before on-site visits, customers did not fully recognize the significant safety hazards of their electrical equipment. We found on site that in obvious explosive hazard areas, customers are still using a large number of ordinary non-explosion-proof lighting fixtures, junction boxes and distribution boxes. Once these devices generate electric sparks, they are highly likely to cause serious fires or even explosions, posing a huge risk to people and property. The client themselves lack the corresponding knowledge of safety standards and feel at a loss as to how to make systematic rectifications.

  • Our Solution

Facing the dual predicament of customers being “unaware of the risks and not knowing how to solve them”, instead of simply promoting the products, we played the role of a “safety consultant” and provided a three-step solution:

First, use methods such as taking photos with mobile phones and on-site marking to record each equipment point with potential safety hazards one by one. Then, explain to the on-site manager of the client in a direct and intuitive way the extreme danger of using non-explosion-proof equipment in a chemical environment, so that they can deeply understand the urgency of rectification.

Customized product matching solution: Based on the on-site environment and specific application points, we have provided a detailed list of replacement solutions. The plan precisely matches the protection requirements of different regions:

Monitoring and early warning: In areas where gas leakage may occur, combustible gas detectors are installed to achieve real-time monitoring and alarm.

Source explosion-proof: Replace all open flame hazard sources (such as switches and wiring) with explosion-proof distribution boxes and explosion-proof junction boxes.

Sealed isolation: All cable entrances and exits are sealed with explosion-proof grilles and plugs to prevent sparks or dangerous gases from entering.

Human body static electricity elimination: Install human body static electricity discharge devices in key areas such as raw material entrances to eliminate potential hazards caused by human body static electricity.

Anti-corrosion protection: For outdoor or damp areas, three-proof (anti-corrosion, dust-proof, and water-proof) distribution boxes are provided to ensure the service life of the equipment.

One-stop delivery and service commitment: We promise to provide full-process support from solution design, product selection, compliance guarantee to logistics customs clearance, resolving customers’ concerns about technical and logistics challenges in international procurement.
