Q1: : Are the terminal boxes need regular maintenance?
A1: Yes. Critical checks include: Inspecting flameproof surfaces for damage; Ensuring tight fasteners and intact seals; Replacing damaged parts with certified components. Damaged parts must be replaced with original factory or certified spare parts. After maintenance, its original explosion-proof performance and protection grade must be restored.
Q2: Can internal wiring be connected carelessly after installing the ex terminal boxes?
A2: Absolutely not! The box only provides “containment.” The internal electrical connections must comply with electrical standards, and all other equipment in the circuit (such as installation switches) must also be explosion-proof.
Q3: Can they be used in both gas and dust hazardous areas?
A3: Only if marked for both gas and dust protection (e.g., Ex db IIC T6 Gb + Ex tb IIIC T80°C Db). Units certified only for gas cannot be used in dust environments and vice versa.
